Sensing the body’s inner system takes years of dedicated practice. Barbara has profoundly expanded her palpation skills through intensive learning and collaboration with osteopathic legend Gez Lamb. Under his guidance, she mastered the Specific Adjustment Technique for resolving joint blockages, as well as advanced methods known as Fields and Levels—which explore the seven distinct layers in the body where trauma or shock can be stored. From this deep osteopathic foundation, Barbara developed her own unique approach: the Butterfly Method. Through it, she uncovered the vital connection between physical and emotional blockages—recognizing how one can deeply influence the other. The Butterfly Method is designed to restore harmony between body and mind, guiding clients toward true, integrated healing.
The butterfly method
Our subconscious operates through vibration. On a conscious level, we interpret this vibration as a feeling. "Feeling" is simply the word we've created to describe our awareness of the vibration we’re experiencing. When physical blockages occur, they can disrupt this natural flow—causing chaotic vibrations. The conscious mind picks up on this disturbance, often translating it into worry, doubt, or fear stored in the subconscious. This is exactly where the Butterfly Method begins its work. It identifies and senses the negative frequency, gently holds it, and guides it back into balance using the law of polarity—shifting the vibration from negative to positive. The result? Physical symptoms are eased, emotional tension is released, and the mind becomes clear and open again. This is the essence of Barbara’s technique—a unique and powerful path to holistic healing.

Until we treat the whole person, there will be no health.” And he was right… The mind governs the body. The conscious mind is where we think; the subconscious is where we feel. It’s our emotions—stored in the subconscious—that drive our physical responses. Whatever is happening in that emotional space directly influences the body. What I’ve discovered in recent years is just as important: physical trauma, shock, or blockages can also influence our emotional state. The relationship goes both ways. This is where my Butterfly Method comes in. Through it, I can help release these stored physical blockages, which in turn brings emotional relief and rebalancing. According to the natural law of vibration, everything in existence is in motion. The body, too, is a complex molecular and cellular structure that vibrates at its own frequency. Nothing is static. I tune into this frequency—this oscillation—read it, hold it, and help it find balance using the law of polarity, shifting the energy from negative to positive. True healing happens when we treat the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—together.

I’m Barbara, a Swiss osteopath living in Bern with my English husband and our teenage sons. My journey began far from here—with a small book on osteopathy I found in a library in Auckland, New Zealand. That moment sparked a lifelong path. I later trained in England, the heartland of osteopathy, where I was fortunate to study under some of the greatest minds in the field—an opportunity I still cherish. During the pandemic, my work took a powerful turn. Together with my mentor Gez Lamb, I began exploring remote treatment of the respiratory system. It was through this experience that I intuitively developed a hands-free, sensing approach —something I had never imagined possible. It sounds unbelievable, even to me: my own chronic back pain, caused by a growth disorder in my youth, had been treated by top osteopaths—yet it was an online session that brought one of the most profound breakthroughs. This format gave me space to fully let go, to heal, without anyone being physically close. That experience changed everything.

Osteopathy has shaped who I am. I feel a deep responsibility to share this gift— especially in the form I now offer, which no one else provides.
